SCTP Members’ Meeting Report

Forty five members gathered at the University of Sussex today for SCTP’s September Members’ Meeting. The meeting included new member intros from iPEGS, Tungsten Training Centre, Possability People and the National Skills Academy for Finaincial Services as well as updates on SCTP activities, the new SCTP website and the results of the SCTP Member Survey. Members heard inputs from Bob Soper-Dyer, Head of BT Apprenticeships giving a levy payers perspective on apprenticeship reform; Steve Benwell from the DWP with the latest on Universal Credit, the Work & Health Programme and their DPS system and Chris Shaw from the ESFA with news and commentary on latest funding and contracting. Members had the chance to debate issues and highlight key issues for SCTP to take forward in its lobbying and respresentation role. The next Members’ Meeting is at Crawley Borough Council, on 16th November (9.30-1.00). We are anticipating speakers from the Coast to Capital LEP and Institute for Apprenticeships.
