Ofsted Clarifies Inspection Plans for ‘Good’ Providers

by | 0 comments

In the common inspection framework, Ofsted undertook to inspect all good providers within the three years up to August 2018. They are well on the way to completing this undertaking. That period is now coming to an end, so Ofsted has clarified when current good providers can expect their next inspection. This will be within five years from their previous inspection. For the avoidance of doubt, this means ‘within five years’, and not ‘after five years’ or ‘in the fifth year’. As before, this will normally be a short inspection but may be a full inspection where risk concerns are identified. Risk concerns may also give rise to an early inspection. The handbook has been updated to cover this change.
