Management has become the second most common apprenticeship framework in England according to FE Week analysis. Statistics released by the DfE, show the management framework had 46,640 new starters in 2016/17, a figure which grows to 64,480 when counting standards. Management has narrowly overtaken the business administration framework in popularity, while health and social care is still most popular with more than 85,000 new starters last year. The DfE commented that they were watching developments closely. For more information and analysis see here. This comes as the Institute for Apprenticeships approved the first ever executive management apprenticeship, which comprises a Master’s degree and the opportunity to gain Chartered Manager professional accreditation and fellowship of the Chartered Management Institute.
