Robert Halfon, current Chair of the Education Select Committee has opened the debate in Westminster Hall by talking about skills in employment, social justice and skills shortages highlighted by the Edge Foundation in a report published 8 May, and also about skills in the future and general innovations in the sector including T levels. He starts by saying, “When I ask employers what they are looking for in their future workforce, their answer is not exam certificates but individuals with good attitude, good communicators, excellent problem solvers and good team players.” This half hour clip covers Halfon’s introduction and response from Skills Minister, Anne Milton.
