Government Launches Industrial Strategy

The government has launched their Industrial Strategy today.  The Strategy sets out the government’s vision for how Britain can build on its economic strengths, address its productivity performance, embrace technological change and boost the earning power of people across the UK. There is much to absorb here with sector deals, the five foundations, 4 grand challenges a £725M Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund plus £60M to help bring disadvantaged and under represented groups into Apprenticeships. Meanwhile Fe Week focusses on the delays to AEB devolution as LEP’s look to be taking the lead in areas (such as Sussex) where there isn’t a mayoral combined authority. A useful summary of the document is available from FE News here.
