The Education Secretary, Damian Hinds, has said that he believes that character and resilience are as important as academic achievement. He has laid out five foundations for building character and pledged to work with schools and other organisations to help every child access activities within each of those foundations. The foundations are Sport, Creativity, Performing, Volunteering & Membership and World of Work. He has announced plans to help access to these activities which can be seen here.
