Education Secretary, Damian Hinds has chosen to override concerns expressed by the DfE’s Permanent Secretary, Jonathan Slater that ‘As things stand today, it will clearly be very challenging to ensure that the first three T-levels are ready to be taught from 2020 and beyond to a consistently high standard’. Hinds countered that the T Level developments were too important to delay and that advice suggested that the 2020 timescale was still achievable. The exchange of letters can be seen here.
