The Skills Minister has appeared to agree that Ofsted should inspect subcontractors during an exchange at education questions in the House of Commons today. This seems to ignore the fact that subcontractors are inspected as part of the inspection of their lead provider(s). Underlying this seems to be a lurking mistrust of subcontracting which fails to acknowledge the diversity and positive local impact this provision brings and the fact that it is the Government that presides over a funding system that indirectly encourages this type of delivery.
