AELP Lobbies For Two Major Apprenticeship Reform Changes

by | 0 comments

AELP has called for the Government to focus on just two major changes to the apprenticeship system namely:

  • No employer contribution towards 16 – 24 year old apprenticeships at non-levy paying employers, or at employers that have exceeded their levy
  • Introduce flexibility to the 20% off the job rule.

SCTP will continue to work with AELP on lobbying for changes that help providers and all involved in the apprenticeship delivery to make the apprenticeship reforms a success.

Meanwhile AELP has also continued to lobby for fair funding for Functional Skills. It has requested that providers submit costings to them by contacting their Research Manager Cath Gladding at cgladding@aelp.org.uk. Also, a reminder that the Ofqual consultation on Functional Skills still open – full information can be found on this link with the consultation response pages themselves available here. The closing date is 22nd November 2017.
