Members will remember an initiative that started at a SCTP meeting led by Caroline Bragg of East Sussex County Council to bring large public sector employers together in pursuit of the approval of a Business Admin Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard. That group has joined forces with another group led by SCTP member Pearson and SkillsFirst and have developed the first set of duties for a new level 2 Business Support Assistant standard. There is still much work to do on getting this formally approved and then subsequently developed, but this is a critical area which has acted as a key entry level point for supporting the social mobility of so many young apprentices who use this route as starting point in their careers.
