Last year, the government announced a £1.5 million programme to support people back into work in the private sector after time spent away from the labour market while undertaking a role in caring. These projects could help returners update their skills, provide other training or support businesses to increase employment opportunities for returners. They have now launched the third round of the initiative and the Government Equalities Office is looking to support potential returners from groups facing persistent barriers to returning to work. More details on the barriers specified, and how to apply for funding is here. Round 3 will distribute up to £500,000 to support eligible organisations to run projects. The deadline for applications is 8 March 2019.
