SCTP’s September Members’ Meeting was held at Plumpton Village Hall yesterday with over 30 people present. Members were updated about current SCTP project work and also heard presentations from Ben Kinross from the NUS about the National Society of Apprentices and the work they are doing on behalf of apprentices, and from Fiona Barrett from Genius Within about their work with neurodiverse learners and how apprentices can be supported through Additional Learner Support funds. Members also heard from Matt Brill from East Sussex County Council about their new careers hub, and from Claire Witz from Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership on their skills strategy and the apprenticeship specialism pilots which SCTP are working in partnership with them both on.
Members had the chance to network and discuss issues around apprenticeships, end point assessment, pre-employment training, recruitment and learner support. Minutes will be issued to members shortly, the presentations from the meeting can be found on the resources page of the SCTP website.
