SCTP’s July Members’ Meeting was held at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath yesterday with over 30 people present. The meeting included a new member intro from Kineo, information on SCTP project work and updates from the latest SCTP Board meeting, including the news that SCTP will be recruiting a new Executive Director for the new membership year, as Paul changes his role within SCTP. An increase in subscription rates was also announced for the next membership year. Look out for other items in this newsletter on both of these developments.
Members heard presentations from David Sampson, from the Institute for Apprenticeships, who updated members on how the IfA has been addressing some of the challenges around apprenticeship standards approval and also updated us on the IfA’s forthcoming responsibilities regarding T levels. Joanne Lupton, from HM Prison & Probation Service, explained the opportunities available to members to get involved in the new Prison Education Dynamic Purchasing System which opens up new opportunities for members via more localised procurement of training and employment services. Members also had an update from Louise Aitken from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership on the launch of the SELEP Skills Strategy and on the SELEP ESF tender round.
Members had the chance to network and discuss issues around apprenticeships, pre-employment training, and e-learning. Minutes will be issued to members shortly, the presentations from the meeting can be found on the resources page of the SCTP website.
The next Members’ Meeting is at Plumpton Village Hall on Thursday 20 September, 09.30-13.00.
