SCTP Analysis Of Local Apprenticeship Starts Figures

by | 0 comments

Following on from the newsletter article last week on the national picture on apprenticeship starts figures SCTP has carried out a local analysis of the performance in Local Authority, borough and district geographies as well as in parliamentary constituencies. The quarter 3 and 4 figures reflect the national skewing already reported (and has been the focus of some unhelpful banner headlines) so it is the full year on year comparison figures that are probably most useful. These show Brighton & Hove down 8.1%, East Sussex down 1% and West Sussex staying the same. This is a better position than the headlines would suggest but still doesn’t give the growth needed to meet the government’s 3 million starts target by 2020. There are also some remarkable pockets of good performance in Crawley, Eastbourne and Rother districts and the parliamentary constituency of West Worthing. Well done to them!
