The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has published a report entitled ‘Older workers after the pandemic: creating an inclusive labour market’. The report says that ‘nearly twice as many older workers have left the labour market due to sickness and ill health (97,000) than those who have retired (50,000) during the pandemic’, and argues that tackling class and race inequalities are key to helping more older workers stay in work.
