The Prime Minister delivered a speech launching a ‘new deal’ for the UK economy, and spoke to the national press about the government’s plans. As part of this speech on the economy he said the government will “offer an Opportunity Guarantee so that every young person has the chance of apprenticeship or an in-work placement so that they maintain the skills and confidence they need to find the job that is right for them“.
