The latest labour market statistics have been published by the Office for National Statistics. They show that in the last six months, the number of people in work increased and the number of unemployed people was little changed. The unemployment rate was estimated at 4%, it has not been lower since 1975. The DWP has issued a press release with more details about the figures with comments from Employment Minister, Alok Sharma, welcoming the new high employment rate of 75.8%.
