The Institute for Apprenticeships have shared figures which estimate that the apprenticeships budget is set to be overspent by £0.5 billion this year, rising to £1.5 billion during 2021/22. This is the first warning sign that levy funds are set to be over-spent, rather than under-spent, and the implications this may have for non-levy paying employers. The figures can be seen here along with comments from the AoC and from AELP who are calling for a proper open debate on how the levy operates.
