Big changes to the current Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998 will come into force in May 2018 under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will have serious implications as to how all businesses, including the FE sector holds and processes personal data.

SCTP have arranged a free session for members from Owen Costen of DLM Group, an experienced GDPR practitioner, to inform them about the changes and what they need to be doing to comply with the legal requirements.

There will be a presentation on key areas:

  • What is GDPR
  • What is Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)
  • Top 10 points you need to know
  • Data Protection Officer
  • Practical demonstration of what your organisation needs to do
  • Q&A session.

The session will run after the members meeting at 13.30 – 15.30, with lunch provided, on 22 March at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath.  To book a place in this session, please register here.

If you decide to attend the session, it would be useful to receive any specific questions you have relating to GDPR prior to the session to pass onto Owen.
