The Department for Education has published research which looks at the different attitudes of female and male students aged 15 to 16 when thinking about STEM subjects. The research found that girls enjoy STEM subjects less than boys and are less likely to pursue STEM at A Level. Following this publication, the School Standards Minister, Nick Gibb, has called on parents, teachers and society in general to challenge and dispel misconceptions some girls have about STEM subjects.
