AELP Analysis of Ofsted Inspections

by | 0 comments

The AELP Research team’s ongoing monitoring of Ofsted results for the FE sector show that on average 69% were rated Good or Outstanding in three months to March 2018. The common themes from ‘inadequate’ reports were: inefficient QA processes; English and maths issues; teachers not planning and providing learning that ensures learners make the progress of which they are capable; tutors not matching work to the needs/potential of individual study programmes, and not having high enough expectations of learners; managers not identifying accurately actions to reduce the differences in achievement between groups of learners.
