The DWP have updated their guidance for their staff regarding the Access to Work scheme. Apprentices are eligible for the Access to Work scheme, which can pay for practical support if someone has a disability, health or mental health condition to help them either start working, stay in work or move into self-employment or start a business. The guidance states that learners on a traineeship are eligible to apply for Access to Work support for the period of the work placement only. Further information about Access to Work is available here.
Launched recently is a global campaign, called The Valuable 500 which is putting disability on the business leadership agenda. It aims to hold global business leaders to account for disability inclusion in their organisations. More information is available on their website here.
