In this article, the Strategic Development Network (SDN) sets out some key ways in which end-point assessment will shape and impact the role of an apprenticeship trainer. They argue that end-point assessment requires a significant shift in mindset for apprenticeship trainers and will impact on different stages of the apprenticeship journey such as initial assessment, developing the curriculum and training plan, on and off-the-job training, progress monitoring and on-programme assessment, preparation for gateway and end-point assessment.
