Science Minister, Chris Skidmore, has spoken about the importance of humanities education to society. He said: “high-quality education in a range of subjects is absolutely critical for our public services and is culturally enriching for our society.” “I challenge the critics to imagine a world without art, without music, without literature. Without people who can think outside the box or challenge ideas. All this comes from the critical thinking that knowing about different cultures, philosophies and languages provides us.” After all, our Industrial Strategy recognises the importance of the Creative Sector in the UK economy, as being an absolutely vital one.”
