Research Shows that Employers Aren’t ‘In the Driving Seat’ on Skills Provision

AELP and the Further Education Trust for Leadership (FETL) have conducted research to find out whether the ’employer in the driving seat’ theory stands up in practice. Their report entitled ‘Employers in the Driving Seat?’ finds that the government is still firmly in control of skills provision with only large employers likely to be in driving seat, with most employers relying on the expertise of training providers.
