The House of Commons education select committee has launched an inquiry into the benefits of adult skills, lifelong learning and the level of support available to learners from local authorities. The committee is concerned about the drop in the number of people undertaking community learning and that lifelong learning is out of reach of the most disadvantaged in society. The Committee is inviting written submissions (questions they want to address are on the above link), with a deadline of 15 August. More on this story can be read here.
