The latest labour market statistics have been published by the Office for National Statistics. They show that in the three months up to January 2019, the UK employment rate was estimated at 76.1%, higher than for a year earlier (75.3%) and the unemployment rate was estimated at 3.9%. The DWP has issued a press release highlighting these figures and the fact that wages continued to outstrip inflation for 12 months in a row.
