The ESFA has published new guidance for training providers and employers regarding the need for, and importance of initial assessment and recognition of prior learning. Comment on this issue can be found here, which highlights that ESFA audits will be checking for this, and that the DfE has tendered for someone to research if and how providers and employers are adapting training and the associated costs to take into account prior learning of apprentices.
