Apprenticeship Starts Analysis by Provider Type

Analysis by FE Week of apprenticeships starts has shown that in the year to July 2018, 61% of starts were delivered by independent training providers (ITPs), 26% by colleges and 13% from other types of providers. The figure for ITPs remains unchanged from the previous year, whilst colleges delivered 31% of all starts the previous year. Education secretary Damian Hinds has urged colleges to increase their update in apprenticeships. FE Week say colleges they have spoken to put their reduction in starts down to the move away from subcontracting since the change in rules in 2017. More can be read on this here.
