Mark Dawe, from the Association of Employment and Learning Providers, argues in this article that the ESFA should remove the 31 July deadline for getting EPAs completed when the actual training has been completed. He argues that as well as adding pressure onto employers and apprentices, the possibility of an increase in demand for EPAs linked to a lack of capacity and consistency in the EPA process will be damaging to the reputation of the apprenticeship programme.
