IfATE Consultations on Reforms to Apprenticeships Funding Levels & External Quality Assurance System

by | 0 comments

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) is currently running two consultations. It is consulting on the process for how they recommend funding bands. The consultation sets out a proposed core model and seeks views on two options for addressing differences in costs of teaching and consumables. This consultation closes on 6 April 2020. They are also consulting on ways in which the current system of external quality assurance (EQA) for apprenticeships might be simplified. They are proposing to move away from a system where EQA is delivered by a wide range of different organisations to one where EQA is delivered by either Ofqual or, for integrated degree apprenticeships, the Office for Students (OfS). This consultation closes on 9 April 2020.
