The Department for Education has published statistics on apprenticeship starts, between the 2012/13 and 2018/19 academic years, by employer size, sector and region. One factor which the report shows is that small businesses have seen a decrease in apprenticeship starts from 37% in 2016/17 to 27% in 2018/19. Comment on this can be read here.
