The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’s (IfATE) chief executive Jennifer Coupland has rejected further calls for a level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship standard. The current Level 2 apprenticeship framework will be switched off from 31 July. Despite over 100 employers calling for the Level 2 standard, the IfATE has rejected the proposal on the grounds it would not meet the 12 month minimum duration requirement, but she also told them that no further applications for the standard will be allowed to be submitted. Further details and comment from those involved in the trailblazer group, including SCTP member East Sussex County Council, can be read here.
