Disabled Children’s Charities Demand Quick Action to Halt SEND Funding Crisis

The National Deaf Children’s Society, the National Autistic Society, SEND Action and Mencap have come together to urge the new Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, to act quickly to halt the funding crisis engulfing the special educational needs and disabilities system (SEND). This follows on from MPs from the Education Select Committee last week calling for extra support for children with SEND, warning of a projected £1.2 billion funding deficit.
