The Education Select Committee held a session on 18 June to question the Social Mobility Commission on the work of the Commission and its role in improving social mobility. The hearing can be viewed on parliament tv here. During the hearing Dame Martina Milburn, the chair of the Commission, called for the rollout of T Levels to be delayed for a year, citing warnings from business that the 315 hour minimum industry placement component of T Levels has not yet been worked out.

A study by the National Foundation for Educational Research which interviews half of the 50 first wave T Level providers, has reported their concerns about the timescales involved in getting the whole programme in place for September 2020. More on this story here.
