The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) has published a study comparing the earning outcomes of young people doing higher vocational qualifications with those of degree holders. They found that people achieving Level 4-5 qualifications in STEM subjects often earn more than people with degrees. The authors of this study have written an article reflecting on some of their findings on the benefits of higher level vocational qualifications, such as higher level apprenticeships.
