The proportion of apprenticeships delivered by subcontractors has fallen significantly in 2017/18. The data released shows that of the 376,396 apprenticeship starts in 2017/18, just 11% was subcontracted, compared with 26% in the previous year. The changes in the subcontracting rules in 2017, and the introduction of the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers could explain this drop in subcontracting. The data also shows how many starts, including subcontracted ones, were delivered by each type of provider. More detail can be read here.
