Teach Too Events in Construction, Engineering & Technology

SCTP is pleased to announce details of the first two events in a series of interactive, industry-led events as part of the Teach Too initiative, tackling skills shortages in construction, engineering and tech.  These events aim to explore how businesses and training providers can work differently, and more collaboratively, to develop apprenticeships, full-time vocational courses and forthcoming T-Levels.

The Skills Swap Cafe is on Monday 29 October, 13:30 – 16:30 at University Centre, Hastings. The session will look at how industry managers can develop their own training and mentoring skills in order to better recruit, support and develop junior staff. It will look at how teaching staff can update their knowledge of our region’s major growth sectors, so that courses and qualifications are more relevant and cutting-edge. For full details about the event and to register to attend, please see the eventbrite page.

The What is Dual Professionalism event is on Monday 5 November, 13:30 – 16:30 at University Centre, Hastings. The session will look at what it is to be a ‘dual professional’ and how the future of work-based learning will depend on skilled industry experts knowing how to teach, assess, mentor and train. For full details about the event and to register to attend, please see the eventbrite page.

The same events are planned to be repeated in Brighton and Chichester throughout November and December.  Dates and venues will be confirmed as soon as possible.
