This Nuffield Foundation recently held an event to look at the significant reforms to the SEND system that are under consultation and examine questions about what works and where the evidence gaps remain. It argues that given the prospect of substantial change ahead, robust evidence will be essential to understand the impact of new approaches and support better outcomes for children and young people. The event offered an opportunity to reflect on new findings from Nuffield-funded research and explore, what key questions still need to be answered. The key themes that emerged are summarised here.
