Following the turmoil around exam results of the last few weeks, the Department for Education’s permanent secretary, Jonathan Slater, is standing down as the Prime Minister announced the need for new leadership at the DfE. Ofqual’s Chief Regulator, Sally Collier, has resigned and will be replaced on an interim basis by her predecessor in the role, Dame Glenys Stacey.

It has been announced that Amanda Spielman, Chief Inspector at Ofsted, will chair a new board committee at Ofqual that will oversee its work to the end of the year.
