In addition to bi-monthly membership meetings and regular information updates SCTP has been working on a range of collaborative WBL development activities that have a positive and direct impact on SCTP members. These activities include:

a) Promoting apprenticeships via SCTP's website and now through the associated events service for schools. This collaborative initiative aims to support all Sussex schools in delivering apprenticeship information - from careers evenings to presenting at assemblies. It is supported by funds from East Sussex County Council, West Sussex County Council, Lewes District Council and the National Apprenticeship Service London & SE Division.

b) Providing CPD events for members. Recent events have covered GCSE delivery for provider staff, a regional policy conference, fundings seminars, OFSTED workshop. Many of these events are delivered in conjunction with the other 4 provider networks in the South East. See the calendar page for latest details.

c)  Working on a funded projects to benefit members development or promotion of their services.

d) Linking with external organisations such as SFA/NAS, EFA, ETF, OFSTED, LEPs, JISC, Sussex Learning Network and Local Authorities in order to represent the interests of members .

e) Facilitating member networking via bi-monthly Members Meetings and the Pre-Employment Sub Group. SCTP also works collaboratively with other provider networks across the south of England and with AELP nationally to share best practice and open up opportunities to support the membership.

f) Ensure that members receive information and support relating to staff and organisational development opportunities provided by external organisations such as the the ETF, NIACE, LEPs and ESF opportunities.
