100 Apprentices in 100 Days Campaign Update

The ambition for the 100 in 100 campaigns is to challenge local businesses to generate 100 new Apprenticeship placements within a local area in 100 days.

We are working with training providers and partners to achieve this target.  Below is an update on the progress to date:-

Guildford 100

With 42 days passed and nearly half way through the campaign, we have received 48 pledges and one of these places is filled.

Isle of Wight 111

We have received 41 pledges and four of these places are filled.  A slightly different format with this campaign in that it will be 111 Apprentice places in 2011.

Oxford 100

With 30 days passed and the half way stage on 5th April, we have received 75 pledges and five of these places are filled.

Reading 100

With 35 days passed and the half way stage on 31st March, we have received 37 pledges and 21 of these places have been filled.

Southampton 100

With 34 days passed and the half way stage on 1st April, we have received 70 pledges and 26 of these places have been filled.

Thank you to all the providers and stakeholders that are supporting these campaigns.

Apprenticeship Vacancies

100 in 100 coding

Following the launches of all the 100 campaigns across the region, we need to be able to recognise on Apprenticeship vacancies what vacancies correspond to which campaigns.

If you are involved in any of the campaigns, please use the following coding at the beginning of the vacancy title:

Guildford – G100

Isle of Wight – I111

Oxford – O100

Reading – R100

Southampton – S100

Reverting a vacancy status - Correct recording of successful offline applicants

When we first set up Apprenticeship vacancies, some providers were unsure how to correctly record ‘offline filled’ vacancies.  That is when a candidate applies for the role outside of the Apprenticeship vacancies system.  We believe this has affected our overall success rates for successful recruitment on Apprenticeship vacancies.  This is a common mistake which can now be easily rectified.

We now have the facility to amend the status of a vacancy from ‘completed’ to ‘closed’.  If you are aware of a vacancy that has been ‘completed’ incorrectly you can request that the vacancy is amended to ‘closed status’.  This will enable you to record the correct outcome and therefore increase your overall success rates as a provider and also our success rates as a region.

To do this, please send the vacancy number(s) and if possible either the name of the Candidate who was successful or the number of offline successful candidates to se-avsupport@apprenticeships.gov.uk.  We will ask for these vacancies to be reverted to closed so that you can amend them.
