National Marketing Campaign

NAS have been given exemption status to run a national campaign starting on 25th October.  The campaign will focus on three audiences: New employers in key sectors including retail, financial, engineering, IT, logistics, creative and cultural and manufacturing (targeted through direct mail), current employers (targeted through letters) and current prospects (targeted through eshots), new employers will also be followed up through telemarketing and radio advertising. Full details will follow shortly.

100 in 100 Campaigns

NAS are coordinating a series of city based business community appeals to find 100 new apprenticeship places in 100 days, referred to as 100 in 100 campaigns.

The Portsmouth 100 campaign launched on Thursday 30th September, it was a successful event with around 30 employers attending to show their support for the Apprenticeship campaign.   It was encouraging to see that on the day of the launch, we received 16 Apprenticeship places pledged by various employers and to date we have seen 25 places pledged, which continues to rise everyday.

There has been a huge amount of press coverage in the Portsmouth News about the campaign, including a 12 page supplement which featured stories from the 10 training providers involved.  Portsmouth News continue to support it with daily stories for the 100 days of the campaign.

We have also started early planning for more 100 campaigns to start in Brighton & Hove, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Maidstone and Canterbury.  Providers will be contacted as required.

Young Apprenticeship Ambassadors

We already have one young ambassador for the South East, but would like to see some more names come forward to take on the role to promote Apprenticeships to young people and employers.  Candidates need to have been an apprentice or are currently on an Apprenticeship, feel confident in talking in front of audiences and have a real passion for Apprenticeships. If you think you know of the perfect candidate please send details through to Laura Kennard.

For more information on the group please visit our website.

Apprenticeship Week 2011
